Effective today, October 16, 2007 Broadway Bound Children's Theatre is launching our "operating and outreach"
Campaign 2008. Our goal is simple, we need to raise $500,000 in order to continue to provide first-rate
professional live musical theatre opportunities to the children of Seattle.
In 2007, Broadway Bound produced a record number of shows, and reached more children than ever before. 7 casts of
Annie, 2 casts of Seussical, 4 of High School Musical, 1 cast of Dreamgirls,
2 Cabaret's, and of course the
adults made a respectable showing in Rocky Horror. It's obvious with our continued growth that our youth enjoy
live musical theatre and Broadway Bound continues to fill that void. Teaching children the discipline, building
confidence, having fun - can you imagine a town without Broadway Bound? We are very fortunate that 11 years ago,
our founder, Jimmy Nixon, had the vision to build these opportunities when Seattle Public schools and surrounding
areas needed to cut budgets, and the arts went first. Our children have grown in ways that wouldn't have been
possible without Broadway Bound.
This year we urge you to participate in Campaign 2008! There are a myriad of ways to do this; whatever best suits
your family's financial ability and your schedule. What is most important to Broadway Bound is your participation,
which helps us to be eligible for grants and city funding. Without your support, it's just not possible to "create
the magic" of live musical theatre.
Please consider supporting the Broadway Bound community by participating in one or more of the following areas:
Annual Fundraiser Luncheon - Tuesday, March 4, Paramount Theatre - Save the date for this not to be missed event. Stay
tuned as we announce our featured guest speaker not to mention the impressive talent of the Broadway Bound performers.
Monique Lipman is chairing this event and a great way to become involved is to be a table captain. Email
annualluncheon@broadwaybound.org if you are interested in helping!
Jimmy's Leadership Circle - Every year, several members of our community join Jimmy's Leadership Circle with a $25,000 gift to
Broadway Bound. Members share the vision and understand the importance of bringing musical theatre to the children of this
community. Members can request an appearance by Broadway Bound performers at special events for other non-profits or a private
party. If you are interested in learning more, please email marka@broadwaybound.org.
Community Giving Campaign - Revenue from ticket sales, and tuition, cover only about half of our operating costs. We
depend on the generous support of individuals and corporations to bridge the gap between ticket revenue and our operating costs.
Your support keeps our doors open, our ticket costs and tuitions affordable, and allows us to bring musical theatre to
low-income children of our community. Individual support can be given on-line at our Donation Page, or mailed to our
office at Broadway Bound c/o of Community Giving Campaign, 5031 University Way N.E., Seattle, WA 98105.
