Summer Camp:

Join us at Magnuson Park Theatre for  2 weeks as youth shine onstage while creating an original mini-musical inspired by popular Broadway musicals. Our teaching artists will guide students through the fun-filled collaborative process of making a musical. It all culminates in a showcase performance featuring the campers’ inspired creation

Students will work on such skills as public speaking, practice singing with live music, and working on vocal techniques. Students will get a chance to learn more about audition techniques, developing script analysis tools, while also having opportunities to be leaders and building an ensemble and engaging with basic theatre design to learn how it all comes together to create a show. Each day follows a routine of music class, dance rehearsal, acting, theatre based workshops, and opportunities for students to socialize, and take breaks throughout the day.   This camp will also include various technical workshops giving students an inside look into behind the scenes of musical theatre.

Hours:

Monday-Friday: Camps are from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
Live Performance Viewing on second Friday of each intensive at 6:00 PM

Cost:

$1,000 Total = $900 base fee + $50 materials fee for tech + $50 non-refundable registration fee)

Shooting Stars

Join Brendan Mack and Mary Ann Volpini as you embark into an incredible writing workshop, creating an original musical in just 2 weeks that defies the rules of theater, casting, and our audiences expectations. "When you wish upon a star" What do you wish for? Students will use their imagination to bring their wildest wishes to life on stage. The session will conclude with a 30 to 45-minute performance of the group’s unique new work, providing a one-of-a-kind experience for kids and families.

Rad Max

Join Brendan Mack and Mary Ann Volpini as you embark into an incredible writing workshop, creating an original musical in just 2 weeks that defies the rules of theater, casting, and our audiences expectations.  Welcome to the post apocolyptic world of the future. How did it happen? How have people adapted? That's up to our students to decide. The session will conclude with a 30 to 45-minute performance of the group’s unique new work, providing a one-of-a-kind experience for kids and families.

Jukebox Musical

Join Caity Petterson and Mary Ann Volpini as you embark into an incredible writing workshop, creating an original musical in just 2 weeks that defies the rules of theater, casting, and our audiences expectations. You probably know of a few famous jukebox musicals (Moulin Rouge and Mamma Mia just to name two.) Now it's time for our students to work together and write their own! The session will conclude with a 30 to 45-minute performance of the group’s unique new work, providing a one-of-a-kind experience for kids and families

August 17 - 28
Count on Us

 Join Melina Karu for a new high-energy, two-week musical theatre intensive designed for teens ready to step into the spotlight - whether as a theatre newbie, or an old pro.  This heavily dance-forward camp focuses on collaborative ensemble work, confidence building, and learning leadership through teamwork.  Young performers will help create an original musical using material from musical classics old and new, culminating in a 30 to 45-minute performance of the group’s unique new work, providing a one-of-a-kind experience for kids and families.
