Learn More About our Spring 2021 School Year Production

Broadway Bound ‘s professionally directed and designed school year productions have traditionally been rehearsed in our University District studios over a period of several months then been performed onstage at a Seattle theater venue.  Due to COVID-19, however, we will be producing our Spring 2021 shows differently.  As always, every child who auditions will be cast and we will continue our practice of forming multiple casts for each show.  Our in-person auditions will be replaced by video submissions.  Rehearsals will be conducted primarily online with some small group in-person rehearsals utilizing special singing masks and other health safety precautions. The production will be recorded, scene by scene, and edited together to create film versions of the shows that will be streamed at scheduled showings for families to enjoy.  This is a new format for us and we are learning as we go so please be aware that things may change along the way. While we still have not returned to our normal in person productions, some things at Broadway Bound will remain exactly the same – like the fun and supportive environment where kids of all skill levels and backgrounds can come together and have a blast doing musical theatre!

Please read our In Person Rehearsal Safety Page to see how exactly we are keeping our students, staff  and families safe.

 Our Spring Productions

High School Musical Jr. for Ages 5-18

Disney Channel's smash hit movie musical comes to life on your stage in Disney’s High School Musical JR. It’s the first day after winter break at East High. The Jocks, Brainiacs, Thespians and Skater Dudes all find their cliques. Basketball team captain and resident jock, Troy, discovers that the brainy Gabriella, a girl he met singing karaoke on his ski trip, has just enrolled at East High. The couple cause an upheaval when they decide to audition for the high school musical. Although many students resent the threat posed to the "status quo," Troy and Gabriella’s alliance might just open the door for others to shine as well.

The Addam's Family for Ages 11-18

The Addam's Family, a comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family, features an original story and it’s every father’s nightmare: Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family– a man her parents have never met. And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before– keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

How Rehearsals Will Work

To protect the safety of our families, instructors, and staff, our rehearsal schedule will look differently than our typical season. 3/4th of rehearsal will be online via zoom with times typically 4:30-6:30pm for High School Musical, Jr. and 6:30-8:30 for The Addams Family. We will ask individual students to come to our studios, masked, to record professionally for our final musical video, in compliance with Phase 2 of WA Safe Start Plan. Instead of having set rehearsal days of the week, Broadway Bound will be calling rehearsal according to character. Not every scene requires every actor and it's important that directors have the chance to work on scenes with potentially fewer actors. There will also be a few Saturday rehearsals but we will let you know those dates as soon as we know.

Please keep in mind, this is a new format for us and we are learning as we go so please be aware that things may change along the way.
